The accolades continue to roll in for the all New 2009 Kia Borrego:  In a recent new vehicle driving impression, Road and Track magazine drove the new 2009 Kia Borrego SUV and came away from the experience "very impressed" with Kia's first full-size sports utility vehicle. 

Road and Track said, "We had the opportunity to drive several hundred miles in the Borrego and came away very impressed. Space efficiency is a strong point; its dimensions are very close to that of the current Ford Explorer but it has three rows of seating, the back row easily accommodating children for long periods of time and adults for short trips. Granted, our V-8 test-driver wasn't fully loaded, but it did have a lot of optional bells and whistles like navigation, leather seats, power sunroof, etc. But the SUV is quiet and has a nice, firm, non-truck-like ride, thanks to eight rubber mounts sandwiched between the body and frame and a well-tuned suspension. Desert Kia of Tucson announces the arrival of the first 2009 Kia Borrego Sport Utility Vehicle in Tucson and Southern Arizona:

Borrego marks Kia's first entry into the competitive seven-passenger SUV segment.  Borrego boasts Kia's first ever V8 engine, available 6-speed Sportmatic transmission, available navigation system, standard Sirius satellite radio, 7500-pound towing capacity (with V8 engine), and up to 21 highway mpg with the standard 3.8L V8 engine.

In June 2008, Kia was the fastest-growing major auto brand in the U.S., increasing sales by 7.6 percent while total industry sales fell by 18.3 percent.

Sales of Kia's Optima sedan, a mid-sized car that competes with the Toyota Camry and Honda Accord, more than doubled. This year, Kia Motors decided to increase the availability of more fuel-efficient, four-cylinder engines in the car, and sales through the first half of the year are up 38.6 percent.   Desert Kia Tucson has the best selection in the state of Arizona of this popular and fuel-efficient sedan.

"Last month was the best June in the history of the company," Kia spokesman Alex Fedorak said. Analysts said Kia has the right mix of products to face $4-per-gallon gasoline. The Rio subcompact, Spectra compact car, Sportage small sports utility, and the Optima all get high gas mileage. And unlike some other sellers, Desert Kia of Tucson in the Automall has ample supplies going into the month of July.
